Malajzia zavedie turistickú daň

Sporné zdaňovanie turistov do Malajzie by podľa všetkého malo byť podľa správ zavedené od 1. augusta.

1. júl bol dátumom kedy zavedenie bolo pôvodne plánované, čo nasledovalo potom, ako na začiatku roka 2017 bol schválené zdaňovanie turizmu počas roka 2017. Avšak vysokí vládni predstavitelia nedávno uviedli, že zavedenie dane bude odložené na 1. august, pretože colné oddelenie nie je pripravené k tomu, aby tieto dávky vedelo zbierať.

Plánované dávky majú byť uložené s ohľadom na sadzby ktoré sú určované podľa využívaných hotelových izieb a sú splatné v rámci nákladov na služby.

Zdaňovanie turistov bude uložené v rozmedzí od 2,50 (0,58 usd) (u izieb v hoteloch bez hodnotenia) po 20 malajzijských ringgitov (pre hotelové izby s piatimi hviezdami).

Podľa ministerstva cestovného ruchu a kultúry, by tieto získané príjmy mali byť vyčlenené pre propagácie krajiny v zámorí a na domáce investície do infraštruktúry, v oblasti cestovného ruchu.
